Shalem’s Clinical Team Grows and Changes

PRINT

Issue: Winter 2020

I’m mindful this winter that our counselling clinic is very much alive. I mean to say that the clinical team experiences ebb and flow as it continues to grow and at times, also loses members. We’ve had some personnel changes this fall and winter and we want to keep you updated.

In November, Amelia Rana, a psychotherapist on our team, headed out for a year-long maternity leave with her growing family. We wish her all the best as she settles in with her new little one.

We are happy to have met David McCallum, who has stepped into her role and will be with us until next fall. David brings with him great insight into the practice of Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) work, as well as Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) – both very sought-after modalities of therapy. We’re enjoying his contributions to the team – welcome to you, David!

Another addition this September was our new intern, Jennifer Watt. From Guelph, she brings with her 20+ years of experience of caregiving, leadership and ministry in a large Canadian parachurch. Her enthusiasm for restorative culture, attachment and trauma has been contagious. She’s also brought with her a flare for design and has been helping furnish and style offices as we have reshuffled rooms. We’re so grateful for her many abilities and investment in the agency. Welcome Jen!

As a team, Shalem’s therapists continue to offer a full range of individual, couple and family therapy services. Check out our website to learn more about what is available, or call our front desk at 905-528-0353 to access services.

Jennifer Bowen, M.Div., RMFT, is the Clinical Director of Shalem Mental Health Network’s Counselling Services.
