The life of a pastor can be exhilarating, filled with the rewards of ministering to others. But sadly, sometimes a pastor or their family don’t know where to turn when they have a struggle of their own.
Clergy Care recognizes the unique needs of ministerial leaders and their families. We contract with professional counsellors around Ontario who have specific training and experience to be able to understand and address needs such as:
- Depression
- Lack of support
- Vicious, unwarranted attack
- Sexual addiction
- Trying to survive in a goldfish bowl
Clergy Care also provides professional development opportunities for pastors and for those who work with them. Clergy Care is open to pastors and their families from any denomination and background.
Shalem is currently partnering with the following denominations to offer support to their clergy:
- Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada Eastern Ontario District
- Salvation Army – Canada and Bermuda Territory
- Anglican Diocese of Niagara

Partnerships
Clergy Care is guided by an inter-denominational Steering Group. We are grateful for the ongoing partnership of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada Eastern Ontario District in this vital ministry.
Shalem Clergy Care continues to be a great blessing to our pastors and their families. This ministry provides safe places where leaders and those closest to them can receive confidential care and assistance during troubled times, as well as to address concerns early on. An ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure. Clergy care has become a recognized and trusted ministry partner for us in Eastern Ontario.
