This will be a sign to you:You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger. Luke 2:12
Dear Friends,
I wonder if, like me, you are thinking about the meaning of Advent this year, in the midst of the despair, suffering and grief caused by COVID-19.
One of the great mysteries of Advent is that Jesus chooses to come to us as a helpless baby. Why does the all-powerful Jesus come in such a vulnerable form, especially this year, in the midst of our own heightened, COVID-induced vulnerability? Don’t we need hope instead—hope that the virus will end?
