Join us for a practice-based training presented by FaithCARE (Faith Communities Affirming Restorative Experiences).
Please note that this is a multi day event:
Part 1: January 17 – 18. This training will be facilitated by Anne Martin and Steve Young.
Part 2: November 19 – 20, 2020. This portion of the training will be facilitated virtually by Anne Martin.
By the end of the training you’ll have:
-
an understanding of the philosophy and principles of a restorative approach to creating community;
-
learned how to implement a continuum of practice from informal conversations to formal responses to conflict;
-
identified ways a restorative approach could benefit your faith community;
-
developed an implementation plan for your faith community.
Through a facilitated process, FaithCARE guides and supports participants to build a community’s capacity to embrace change and transition, reflect upon and deal with conflict and harm, and set new directions.
Recently a participant from a FaithCARE training wrote a reflection after her experience at the training. “What we were introduced to as a group was a new language, a new way of being in community with one another. To begin with, the space for conversation is shifted. Restorative conversations take place within a circle.” You can read the full article here.
This training is offered in partnership with Emmanuel College. You can see the complete details for the training here and register here.
