Shalem is currently accepting applications for the position of Executive Director. We are seeking an Executive Director who will be key in building a team both within the agency and with client agencies.
With a track record of implementing vision and mission, the ED will work closely with the board to guide the organization. You will bring a fresh perspective to developing partnerships with mental health agencies, churches, workplaces, and schools. Most importantly, you will have a passion for equipping and supporting communities to better embrace the needs of people who struggle with emotional distress or mental illness.

Clinical Internships at Shalem
Shalem is pleased to offer internship opportunities to students seeking placement during their training in Master’s Level programs related to psychotherapy or social work.
Shalem offers placements spanning September to April annually. Our placements for September 2020 – April 2021 have already been selected. Please follow the instructions below if you are interested in a placement for September 2021.
If you are interested in joining us for your placement, please complete the form below and submit your CV to our Clinical Director, indicating your interest in this program, and highlighting your program needs. We will contact you if we are able to offer you an interview for the role.
Shalem is generally able to offer 4-10 hours/week of direct client contact. All hours are negotiated during the interview process.
Interns are matched with a supervisor, who will offer weekly individual supervision. Other details of the supervision relationship will be negotiated during the interview and first meetings. Your supervisor will also work with you to meet your program’s evaluation requirements. Please plan to bring all of your school’s placement material with you to your first supervision meeting.
In addition to individual supervision, Shalem offers monthly group supervision with the wider team of therapists.
Shalem offers psychotherapy to the community both onsite at its head office in Hamilton, as well as at some offsite offices at nearby schools. It is possible that internship client contact includes a variety of settings.
