Solution-Focused Therapy Workshop

We are pleased to offer a Solution-Focused Therapy Workshop: Assumptions and Interventions that Support Short-Term Work on Thursday, October 10, 2013 in Hamilton. Susan Winter Fledderus, M.Ed., RMFT, R.S.W., CSFT will lead the workshop. This workshop is appropriate for counsellors, social workers, and marriage and family therapists who want to increase their skill in applying the Solution-Focused model in their clinical practice.

This training is part one of a two-part training, the second of which will be held in the Spring of 2014.These two days of training can be used together in place of one of the modules in the University of Toronto’s Certificate program in Solution-Focused Counselling.

Healing Conflict with Restorative Justice Workshop at the Outreach Networking Conference

Mark Vander Vennen will be presenting at the Outreach Networking Conference 2013 on October 5, 2013.  The conference theme is “Where is the Spirit Leading?”, and is put on by the Anglican Diocese of Toronto. The workshop will cover how we can have difficult, challenging conversations in a safe way in our parishes and communities? How can we deal with conflict so that we repair harm, restore relationship and build stronger, more connected congregations? In this workshop, learn how faith communities are embracing restorative practices as a way of moving forward and of providing opportunities for reconciliation. The Gospel and Mental Health – Shalem’s 50th Anniversary Celebration: Refreshing Hearts in Christ

On October 5th, Shalem celebrated 50 years of restoring hope. Our special guests for the evening were Author Paul Young of “The Shack” and Singer, Songwriter Jacob Moon. Paul Young spoke to us on the topic “The Gospel and Mental Health“.  We celebrated hope found even in the midst of pain.
